now, what makes this coffee special?

Rutas is our longest standing relationship coffee. This was the first coffee we bought in 2015 when we opened the Summit Coffee Roastery and in 2018 Brian spent a week at Rutas Del Inca.

Rutas Del Inca is the cooperative in Peru where the coffee is harvested. They are working on improving coffee plantations, increasing production, quality control, application of good agricultural practices, and environmental conservation to improve its overall quality.

Summit strives to have over 80% of our coffee be relationship coffees. In 2022, 88% of our coffees were part of our relationship coffee program, with Rutas Del Inca being one of those. Relationship coffees allow us to foster connections with cooperatives and farmers which leads to increased quality, trust, and support.

Rutas Del Inca is an organic coffee! The cooperative exported its first crop in 2014, cementing itself as a quality-focused, organic-certified producer.
